River Day 12/12/2016

Why would they think any work is going on at the river?
The entire Rivertarian  Party was able to meet at the river this week for the holiday: Pat, Ted, Tim, Jay, and myself.  Scott and Freddy were both there as well.  We had a decent day for it, mild temps and partly cloudy skies.  I say mild, but it was the coldest 50 I believe I've ever felt.  Oh well, nothing a little fire couldn't help with.  We still have pallets from the last couple of weeks, and there's no shortage of burning materials laying around.

No projects going on this week - most of the time was spent right around the fire, excluding the occasional wood foraging.  The river was up several feet higher than the last time, so no traipsing around in the rocks and weeds below the camp.

I will add that there's still some discussion about a Christmas album, Rivertarian style, but it may not catch on as well as we'd like to think.  And it'll probably never be a "family" favorite.

I took several pics this week, so I'm posting several.  Ted took some also but he hasn't sent them to me yet.  I'll add them here, or make another post when he gets a chance to send them.

Just a few more Mondays left in 2016, and I hope to celebrate them at the river, or at least in the company of fellow Rivertarians.

Pay no attention to that man behind the tree!

As always...
