We had absolutely beautiful weather for this week's River Day and Jay, Tim, and I (Mark) took full advantage of it. We made a short road trip this week and celebrated River Day a few miles up river from our normal spot, near Mill Creek.
The fishing wasn't very good at this spot, but that didn't stop us from trying. Jay actually caught a couple and Tim caught one; I came up empty handed. Good thing they don't call it "catching".
We had a nice fire going but it was so hot we didn't spend much time near it. You just have to have one while you're at the river; it may even be in the by-laws somewhere.
Of course we had the normal conversations
regarding the political climate in the country, followed by matters closer to home. After that we even had some early planning (talk anyway) about our annual fall camping trip. That isn't until October, but you have to be prepared.As usual, this was a great evening on the river at probably my favorite spot on the river. It's hard to imagine how folks who don't celebrate River Day make it through their week!
