Prayer Meeting 07/02/2021

A busy Prayer Meeting for the Rivertarians this week, with a couple of projects going on.  Jay, Tim, Ted and I got together for a pleasant evening at Jay's - good weather, good times, great friends.

Projects are usually reserved for Fridays - kind of an unwritten rule - and even the neighbors got on board.  The folks across the street from Jay's are getting ready for some construction around the house, so they had some material delivered via a pretty big truck (and truck driver!).  Of course we oversaw the whole thing, and even got involved by helping the driver back his rig back onto Park Ave when he was finished.  Obviously we did an excellent job in stopping traffic.  The bad part is, we've now come up with a fun way to put our skills to the test, but that's for another gathering.

Tim sent me this next photo, and I'm not sure exactly what's going on, but it's something you certainly don't see everyday:

Our next project involved the highly technical installation of an eyehook into the top of a birdhouse I put together a few years ago.  I got the big idea that it would look better outside than sitting on top of a bookcase gathering dust.  And just maybe it'll get used.  I had apparently overthought the whole process and was going to involve serious power tools.  Jay, using a much cooler head, talked me off that ledge, and we got it done in about 5 minutes, without having to rearrange his shop in the process.

As always, we had a great time talking, laughing, and enjoying a few cold beverages.  Jay's son William was also around this week and spent a little time with us, along with his son Liam.

Can't wait till the next one.
