River Day 04/18/2016

Rivertarians were in abundance this week.  Guess the beautiful weather made everyone want to celebrate River Day: Kevin, Scott, Pat, Jay, Ted, Tim, and myself all made it to the river.  And let's not forget the Fredster.  Temps were right around 80 degrees, and there wasn't a cloud in sight.

Despite the warm weather, we did have a small fire, and most of the evenings activities were centered around the fireplace.  As usual, lots of topics were covered during course of the afternoon.  I'm pretty sure we didn't solve any important issues this week.

The grass is high at the camp, but none of us brought anything to cut it with.  There's still a lot of flood debris that needs picked up and burned before it would be safe to mow. It's been too dry and windy to burn that kind of stuff, so we need a little rain to move ahead with that.  We did manage to clean up a little of our own mess by the cabin, and Freddy agreed to put it out with his trash (thanks!).

I tried fishing a couple of times, had a few bites, but never landed anything.  I looked again for helgies but they still haven't come up (out?).

Scott brought down a little snack for everyone, which was appreciated.

I can't think of a better way to start off each week.  Happy River Day!
