Prayer Meeting 05/20/2022

 It was a tee shirt and sandals kinda afternoon at Jay's this week for Pray Meeting.  The day couldn't have been any nicer with clear skies and temps in the mid 80's - finally!  Everyone actually showed up this week, even Pat, along with Jay (since it was his house), Ted, Tim and me.

We didn't get into anything, just hung around and caught up, and enjoyed a few cold beverages.  I actually remembered to take a few photos - nothing spectacular, just a few snapshots to document the "meeting". My apologies to Ted for not taking any pics of him before he left.

Good seeing everyone again.

River Day 05/17/2022

 Looks like we've gone from feast to famine this year on the blog: last year we had a record number of posts, this year is just sad.  I haven't been around much for the last two months and the other guys haven't gotten around to posting.

I did get to hang around with Jay and Tim for a while this Monday - Ted had already been there and left before I showed up.  We spent time on the front porch enjoying blue skies, but the temp was a little chilly (jackets and long sleeves kinda chilly).

I don't think anyone took any pics this week, so I don't have any to add to this post.

I'm glad I got a chance to catch up with the group.

Prayer Meeting 03/04/2022

 Everyone got together for Prayer Meeting this week, just not all at once.  I was the last one to get there, Ted was the first to leave.  Unfortunately, we missed each other again.  Tim and Jay were also there, and Tim had to leave a little earlier also for a birthday shindig.  The weather was beautiful - about 60 degrees and blue skies. Jay and Tim were outside soaking up some late afternoon sun when I got there.

Lots of talk again about starting a Geocache of our own.  Jay and Tim have done a little pre-scouting and seem to have found a good spot to start.  Now to get it in place and the paperwork started for approval for the Geocaching web site.  Once that's done, we'll be getting our trackables started as well.

River Day 02/28/2022

 

So let's go ahead and get the weather report out of the way: temps in the mid 40's, clear blue skies, and plenty of sunshine this week for River Day.  I know that since we meet inside now instead of the river that the weather doesn't impact us as much, but it's always nice going back and seeing what things were like during our meetings.

I was a little late getting to the celebration, and was told that I had just missed Ted.  Jay and Tim were still hanging around when I got there.  

Tim brought his cache container, already loaded with a log book, official Geocache decals, and his Travel Bug dog tags for a little show and tell.  If anyone took any pictures, I don't have copies.  Feel free to send them along (plus any others) and I'll edit this post.

Hopefully we'll have some more news about this endeavor within the next couple of weeks.  We're all getting anxious to get this one started, along with some trackable items.

I for one always appreciate our get togethers and hope we never get tired of them.

Prayer Meeting 02/25/2022

 Back to winter Friday afternoon for our end-of-week get together.  When Ted left we actually had a few flurries.  Jay, Tim and I rounded out the roster.

Once again this week we talked a good bit about Geocaching.  Specifically about starting our own cache, and then putting travel bugs in it, get them to the west coast, and back, and see who's comes back first.  If we actually ever see them again.  I'm sure the planning and preparation for this will take place over the next few meetings, but I feel sure we'll get it done.

Lots of laughs as usual, but also as usual I remember so little about what we found so funny.  One phrase I did note was "bush weed eater".  Don't ask.

We also had a pretty cure visitor this week (pictured above).  It's amazing how much Williams kids look like him (sorry Danielle).  Picture shown with Dad's permission.

River Day 02/21/2022

 After nearly a month of missed meetings I finally got to attend this week's River Day, along with Jay, Ted, and Tim.  It was really great getting together with everyone again, and we had good weather to boot - mild, mid 60's, light jacket only.

I don't believe that any of us took any photos - I know I didn't.

We did get into a short project during the afternoon.  William had a pretty good truck load of wood in the back of his truck that he'd picked up at the river.  We decided to form a half@$$ed fire brigade line to get it from the street to the back yard.  Wasn't perfect, but it worked.

There was also some talk about some upcoming Geocaching activities for the group that had been kicked around for a while that I was brought up to speed on.  We'll post more as we get closer, but it should be a nice "project".

Prayer Meeting 01/28/2022

 Ted, Jay and I got together for this week's Friday meeting.  What started out as a cold, snowy afternoon progressively got colder and snowier, but it was nice and warm in the shop.

I've been absent from the last few Rivertarian meetings, so I may have exceeded my story limit for the evening.  Oh well, some things are just too good not to share.

No projects for the evening, but Jay did show us his recently McGyver'd anvil install on the workbench.  Nice job!

Another great meeting to end the week with!
