River Day 3/29/2021

Wow!! The last River Day for the month of March. I'm not really sure why it seems like these past three months have cruised by so quick, but they have! We all sorta kinda got together but not really! Tim,Ted, and I got a late start on the afternoon and Mark was into a project with Hayden or maybe it was just Marks project? But we all made attempts to be together but did not happen. I look forward to finding out how his project turned out. The rest of us spent the next hour or so having a few cold ones then we all got into a big discussion about..
Yup,you got it!! Chicago and Milwaukee tools...The bottom line is; these tools are not made where you might think, unless you did think about another country? Anyhow that's all I'm saying about that subject, But seriously you might want to Google it. Hope you all have a good week, whats left of it!

Prayer Meeting 3/26/2021

Hello All! I'm doing this post even though I have no pictures nor am I sure if any one else may do a post? The meeting began outside on the front porch with the presence of Tim,Ted and I and we enjoyed the sunny weather while we briefly spoke about some work issues and then we migrated to the back yard to be more exposed to the wonderful sunshine. Mark was able to chime in on the meeting later that afternoon and thats about all I remember? I've come to realize that with this crowd if you dont record the events, it then becomes very hard to remember what happened? It seems like I only recall alot of laughing and people criticizing each other! The nice part about all these get togethers is that everyone ends up having a good time! Hope you all have a good weekend.

River Day 3/22/21

Once again the Rivertarians are doing some advertising for "Yuengling" , well not really!! There is a short story about this and I think its happened to all of us at one time or so? Tim,Ted,and I got together Monday afternoon and no sooner did Tim open up his first cold one he got a phone call that he had to answer and as a result his cold one sat next to the saw all by itself. Please do not operate any power tools after your certain amount of cold ones! Any how we did run in to Tim eventually and we all ended up in the back yard enjoying the wonderful sun shine. Looks like warmer weather is just about here to stay and hopefully we can get motivated and all do some fishing. Thanks for a good start of the week guys.

Prayer Meeting 03/19/2021

I feel really bad that I've let River Day catch up to me before making this post - my apologies.

Anyway, Ted, Jay, Tim and I got together for our end-of-week gathering (aka/Prayer Meeting).  Even though spring is in the air, we spent the hours in the shop at Jay's house.

Prior to Tim and I arriving Jay and Ted were apparently doing some engineering calculations on the angle of a nearby street, and the ability of Jay's tractor to climb it, especially with a load.  I'm not sure what they came up with, but the tractor made the hill climb with about 300 additional pounds loaded in the trailer.  From what I gathered, it would have been an easier climb with both gear boxes in 1st, but he did what he could.

There weren't any projects this week, just a lot of laughs and some cold beverages.  That said, we did have a couple of interesting comments that were "blog worthy".  I'm not offering any explanation to these, just throwing them out there.  They have been sanitized where necessary to maintain our family oriented ratings:

"Cause I've got a freezer, @$$hole, so **** you!"

Followed by:

"Listen to this mother ****er"

I'm not going to credit any specific Rivertarian for these outbursts, but suffice it to say it caused a great deal of laughing, even without knowing the context of the comment.

With this kind of language, we may need to rethink our title for the Friday meeting.

Thanks to Ted for adding to the photos again.  Much appreciated!

River Day 3/15/21

Hello All! Yep it's a late post but some of us did get together to celebrate while others wanted to but for some crazy reason they where needed elsewhere. Any how Tim had Ted and I listening to a story about the heated seats in his truck and how he ordered some parts but was missing a connector to get the seats working again. So he needed a connector and of course he went everywhere;well maybe just Lowes. So back to the story, as he was telling us about what he needed I began to search my inventory and yes indeed I had what he needed.
It's always nice to help friends out! Oh and he got my last two connectors that size! Any way it was fun spending the afternoon together and I look forward to finding out if Tims seat work. I hope everyone had a good St.Patrick's Day. Thanks for the pic Ted!

Prayer Meeting 03/12/2021

Sorry for the late post, but there was indeed a Prayer Meeting this week.  Just Jay, Ted and I this time around, and it was a relatively short meeting (for me anyway).

We decided on a group selfie for the blog, and to be honest, the pictures all sucked, so I'm posting 2 that suck less than the rest of them.

Oh well, we still had a great afternoon.

River Day 03/08/2021

We had a much warmer River Day this week than we've had for a while.  That translated to a lighter jacket and no hat for the walk to Jay's.  Spring won't be long in coming now.

We (Tim, Jay, Ted and I) had a nice relaxing afternoon at Jay's shop, mostly discussing the weekend adventures at Tim and Jay's brother's house.  Glad all of the siblings could get together and enjoy themselves.  Aside from the plumbing issues, looks like the had a nice feast of ribs:

I think everyone brought home a doggy bag, and Jay shared his with us.  I didn't eat any of them but from the smell, the lip smacking and the finger licking, they must have been delicious. See what you miss when you have a late lunch?

Not much going on this week, just the usual non-repeatable banter.  Much of it non-"rememberable".

Great time as usual.  Happy River Day!

Prayer Meeting 03/05/2021

This week's Prayer Meeting was all over the place this time...literally.  Jay and Tim were out of town visiting Jill and Lisa's brother. Ted was at his place (with the best fire in Beckley).  And I was at home with grandkids.

The Harpers and I had a short Facetime chat, and Ted sent a few pics from the backyard.

This may have been an unorthodox way to hold a Prayer Meeting, but we still managed to connect!

Long live the Rivertarian's!

River Day 03/01/2021

Sorry for the late post this week.  I guess I got so excited that we haven't missed any posts of gatherings this year that I almost forgot this one.  My bad.

We were all able to get together again for River Day: Ted, Tim, Jay and I.  And since it's been 4 days now, I really don't remember what the weather was like.  Dry and warm in the shop is about all I can say about that.

All in all a pretty laid back meeting for this Monday; no projects, no one required medical attention.  That's always a plus.  And if it wasn't for Ted, we wouldn't have any pics (Thanks Ted!).

Anyway, it was River Day, and we were able to enjoy another one.
