River Day 03/12/2018

National River Day has been slowly making a transition for the last 2 years or so; mostly because of the change of ownership at the camp (usual spot).  Despite the place that the camp has in our hearts, there's been a different feel when we're there; do we belong, what can/can't we do, what are we willing to do?  We never had to worry about this before, and it's made a difference in the desire to be there.

That said, I believe that River Day isn't where we celebrate it, but the fact that we're celebrating it.  The act of Rivertarians getting together on a (mostly) weekly basis and enjoying one another's company.  And while we haven't been doing it at the river (and by that I mean anywhere at the river), we have indeed been celebrating River Day.

What we haven't been doing is posting our get-togethers.  So, I am purposing (to myself at least) to post weekly, no matter where we gather.

This week, Jay, Ted and I got together at Jay's house for a round of discussion, cold ones, and darts.  Temps were right around 70 (or so) in the basement, and we had no snow falling on our heads, like it was outside.

I am pleased that we were able to get together, and hope for many more years of the same thing, regardless of the location.

Happy River Day to Rivertarians everywhere!
