River Day 08/21/2017

River Day was celebrated closer to home again this week, not because of the weather, but because we wanted to try to see the solar eclipse that was to happen in the late afternoon.  Everyone was able to attend this (non)event: Pat, Ted, Tim, Jay and myself.  Get a few Rivertarians together and anything can be a party.

Not much really to report on.  We hung around on Jay's front porch, talked, laughed, had a couple of cold beverages, and maybe a shot of Sambuca or two.  Even though the eclipse was kind of a let down, we still had a great time.

The only visitor we had was Tongue Cat (what is up with that cat?!?).  He seems to only show up when we get together at Jay's.

No river this week, but a great River Day anyway.  Oh, and we didn't burn anything, so someone else may have had the best fire on the river this time around.

River Day 08/14/2017

Due to the frequent, heavy rains on Monday, we made the official call to hold River Day at the backup location - Jay's shop (basement).  Only three of us made it this week - Ted, Jay and myself.  The other guys were off doing, well, whatever it is when they're not celebrating River Day.

We didn't get into any projects this week (translated: we didn't tear up any of Jay's stuff) but I do seem to remember lots of drawing and diagrams in the official shop notebook.  Pretty sure I'll have to look at it again to even remember what it/they were.

We did get into a rather lengthy round of darts.  One game, but it went on for a while.  Okay, Jay won.

Just a nice afternoon/evening of conversation and stories (something else I really don't remember too many details of).  Seems like a lot of River Day get-togethers involve a story or two.
