Wow! Over a month since the last River Day post! We did get a chance to celebrate the holiday on 08/01/2011, but no one brought a camera, and no one made a post. Just as well, I violated one of the River Day rules: celebrated on my anniversary. Since Trish joined us though, no harm, no foul.
We had a beautiful "pre-fall" evening this week: clear blue skies, a little breeze and cooler temps (upper 70's to 80). Ted, Jay, Tim and I made it down this week and enjoyed a quiet time at the river.
Tim, Jay and I did a little fishing early on, but none of us caught anything. Other than that it was a nice peaceful evening; listening to a little music and watching the fire (just a small one this week, the big one's will be right around the corner).

The other three left a little early, so I decided to try a little more fishing. Caught one smallmouth bass on my fly rod - after that, no more bites.
Summer time schedules have had us a little messed up on Monday's, but I'm sure that things will settle down with cooler temperatures on the way.
