Monday Night 3/29/10 -- Saving The Shed...??!!

So this was the first time since the flooding on Saturday the 13th that we have been able to get down to the river to celebrate the tradition....Schedules have made it difficult to get down for everybody. Jay, Ted, Pat and Tim were able to make it down. We spent the first hour or so engaging in the usual Monday rituals, (that would mean having a few beers, enjoying the fire, talking about kids and family, discussing current events,[politics!] and Jay tried some fishing)

After getting that all figured out, Ron came down and we attempted to move the shed back to its original location. Wow... that turned out to be much more difficult than we thought! We used a chain, a pry bar, a "come-a-long" and a lot of man power to coax the shed back to its original position. Problem, the more we pushed and pulled, the more the shed came apart! End result, we were able to get it close to its original spot but not completely where we wanted it. We were fortunate enough to have some consulting from local engineer and neighbor Dave. (Thanks Dave)

Seems like it might be time to make some decisions about the shed... should it be rebuilt or given up to the "firegod" and replaced ?? Oh well... a topic of discussion no doubt for next Monday night... Hope to see Mark back for that one...

FLOODING !!! Saturday 3/13/10

WOW !!! What a difference five days can make!! The pictures say it all.....

Monday Night 3/08/10

So the weather finally seems to be getting warmer....as you can see by the pictures Ted and Jay were able to do some yard clean-up from some of the leftover mess that this winter brought!! Jay kept a line in most of the evening... didn't seem to be much biting on it. In attendance tonight was Jay, Ted and Pat, along with myself (Tim). Mark was away with work duties... looks like we might not see him for a few weeks. (Work always seems to have a way of screwing things up!)

Had a great night.... temperatures were nice... very relaxing! Got to love National River Day!!

River Day 03/01/10

Another great Monday night at the river this week, enjoyed by Jay, Tim and I (Mark).

As you can tell by the pictures, winter is still very much with us. The ground was pretty much snow covered and there was a cold wind blowing most of the evening. Even the night-crawlers were cuddling for warmth.

We had visitors this week! Lori, along with William, was test driving a new car and brought it down to show Jay. Of course we made them pose for a picture. (No, it doesn't take much to amuse us.)

We're pretty sure that we still had the best fire on the river.
